Actor Aremu Afolayan has publicly backed President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking at a campaign event, Afolayan defended the government's policies and shared his personal success story, stating that he is "doing very well" despite the nation's economic challenges.

Afolayan praised President Tinubu's diplomatic efforts, particularly in lifting the UAE travel ban on Nigerians, and emphasised the president's focus on unity.

He said, “When people say the country is hard, I don’t really know what that is. When the UAE banned Nigerians from entering their country, it was President Tinubu who went there, met with their president, and helped lift the ban. I was very happy and praising Tinubu. Nigeria has many problems, but most Nigerians seem more focused on criticizing him and his efforts.

"The good work President Tinubu is doing is why I support him. He is trying to unite Nigerians".

Speaking on security concerns, Afolayan suggested reports of insurgency are exaggerated, saying, "And when you watch the news about insurgency, don’t mind them it’s all scripted".
