From Tosin Tope, Akure

A group under the auspices of Support Democratic Frontiers has thrown its weight behind Kolawole Ologede, the lawmaker representing Akure North Constituency in Ondo State House of Assembly, calling for his re-election in the 2027 general election.

A statement by the group’s Coordinator, Oladele Akintunde, described Ologede as a compassionate, result-oriented leader, whose purposeful representation had touched and transformed the lives of constituents across the length and breadth of Akure North.

The statement: Since assuming office, the lawmaker has demonstrated commitment to grassroots empowerment, community development and effective legislative representation.

‘’His tenure has been marked by a wide range of people-centred interventions that have delivered real, measurable dividends of democracy to the people.

‘’Among his most impactful achievements are the facilitation of employment opportunities for 17 young graduates into Ondo State civil service, securing permanent state jobs for long-time casual workers, especially in communities such Oba-Ile, Iju, Ogbese, Igbatoro, Eleyowo, Igoba, Itaogbolu and regular distribution of essential support items, resources, as well as cash gifts to vulnerable households, women and youths. In addition to the 45 special assistants he pays on a monthly basis.

‘’He has also broken educational barriers by procuring and distributing free JAMB (UTME) forms to deserving students, enabling many to gain admission to higher institutions and investing directly in the future of Akure North’s youths.

‘’On the infrastructure and education front, Ologede has successfully advocated and delivered key constituency projects, including the donation and inauguration of boreholes in water-challenged communities such as Eleyowo, Oba ile and Ogbese to provide reliable access to clean water.

‘’He has also spearheaded the renovation of more than nine schools in strategic locations, including Igbatoro, Ita Ogbolu and Iju, equipping them with modern chairs and lockers to create conducive, dignified learning environments where students can study comfortably and perform better.

‘’Additionally, his legislative advocacy contributed to the inauguration of a market at Oja Oba, Itaogbolu and Oja Oba in Iju to boost local commerce and improve economic opportunities for traders and residents.

‘’In Ondo State House of Assembly, the lawmaker has been an active and respected voice, notably serving as chairman of House Committee on Education, where he championed improvements in the sector, while participating in debates and collaborating with the executive arm to advance governance, infrastructure and overall state development.’’
