Wike meant well for me when he conceived Port Harcourt Ring Road project, says Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has credited one of his legacy projects, the Port Harcourt Ring Road, to his predecessor and Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Chief Nyesom Wike.
The ongoing 50.15km Ring Road Project, with five flyovers and one river-crossing bridge, was designed to link over six local government areas of the state.
Fubara, who inspected the project on Tuesday, after President Bola Tinubu intervened and resolved the ongoing rift between him and Wike, fondly referred to the minister as his "Oga".

The governor said Wike conceived the project because he meant well for him, adding that the idea was to make the people happy with his administration.
Describing Wike as a man with "a very big ambition", Fubara said he would keep the vision of his benefactor alive by ensuring the completion of the project.
He said, "For me, this project is very important considering the person who conceived it, my Oga, the Hon. Minister. He had a very big ambition. He believed that if I achieve this project on record time, the Rivers people will be happy with me.
"So, notwithstanding whatever is happening, it is also my wish and struggle to ensure that that vision will be fulfilled. So you can understand the importance of this project to us and to everyone who means well for our state".

He recalled that the project was designed to be completed within 36 months, explaining that the delivery date was approaching.
The governor said he embarked on the inspection to assess the level of work done by the contractor.
Speaking on the progress of work, he said, "We started our inspection from the Eleme axis, traversing through Iriebe, part of Obio Akpor, and we are here to see the only river crossing bridge that will connect the entire section of the road.
"From your own observation, not just mine alone, they have achieved a lot. In the course of our discussion, they assured us that by October this year, they will deliver the project
"In my assessment, what they need is the fund, and from my own end is the push. I strongly believe that this promise that we made to our people, we will deliver it by October, God willing."
