The Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, has underscored the importance of religion in fostering unity, cohesion, and national development.
Goronyo spoke during the commissioning of the Isah Mai Kware Juma’ah Mosque in Sokoto State, where he said religious institutions remain critical in shaping values that promote sincerity among leaders and citizens.
The minister noted that the project reflects a broader commitment by leaders to support initiatives that enhance social harmony and improve the welfare of the people.
He described the mosque as a contribution to religious development and a platform for strengthening unity and peaceful coexistence in the state.
According to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Abdullahi Mohammed, Goronyo also commended the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, for his efforts in advancing development across key sectors.
The minister said the governor’s projects have contributed to infrastructure growth and promoted peaceful relations among different religious groups.
Goronyo further acknowledged the role of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in the state, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, describing his leadership as instrumental in strengthening governance and development.
He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for policies aimed at improving infrastructure, stimulating the economy, and driving national growth.
The commissioning attracted stakeholders and community members, with emphasis on the role of religious and public institutions in supporting development efforts across the country.
