Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has donated ₦30 million to the families of victims killed in recent bandit attacks in the Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The donation, according to a statement by the Chairman of the Senator’s Publicity Committee, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad (Danmadamin Birnin Magaji) is intended to ease the hardships faced by bereaved families. The senator also undertook to cover medical expenses for those injured in the attacks.
The funds were presented at the Palace of the Emir of Bukkuyum, Alhaji Muhammad Usman, by the Federal Commissioner representing Zamfara State at the National Population Commission, Hon. Muhammadu Muttaka Rini.

In his message, conveyed by Rini, Senator Yari expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries sustained during the attacks, offering prayers for the deceased and wishing speedy recovery for the injured.
He explained that each of the 25 affected families from the Bunkasau and Yarkalma communities would receive ₦1 million, while 10 injured victims currently receiving treatment would receive funding. ₦500,000 each.
Yari also extended condolences to the Emir, the Bukkuyum Local Government Council, and residents of the constituency, stressing that the tragedy affects the entire community.
He reassured citizens that the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is taking steps to address insecurity and restore peace in the North-West, citing ongoing military operations, increased deployment of security personnel, and improved coordination among security agencies.
The senator commended the efforts of the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies for their role in combating banditry and kidnapping.
Responding, the Emir of Bukkuyum described the intervention as timely, noting that, beyond financial support, the presence of leaders has provided comfort and renewed hope to affected families.
