The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made on Thursday during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Damaturu, the state capital.

The motion was moved by Senate President Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and seconded by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Chiroma Buba Mashio, before receiving unanimous approval from party stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Mai Mala Buni said the state had benefited significantly from its alignment with the ruling party at the federal level.

“It is gratifying that our alignment with the national party and government since 2015 has attracted advantages to the state, facilitating our reconstruction and recovery programme for the benefit of our people,” Buni said.

He called on residents of the state to sustain their support for the APC and back President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The governor also commended party stakeholders for maintaining peaceful political engagement in the state, describing it as a reflection of political maturity and collective commitment to the state’s progress.

“Although we may have differing political views, we have never allowed violence to define our political process. This underscores our identity as the home of ‘Politics without Bitterness,’ as espoused by the late Waziri Ibrahim,” he added.

Buni further expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their resilience and continued support for the government’s recovery efforts, and to security operatives for their sacrifices in restoring relative peace to the state.

“The government and people of Yobe State remain indebted to our security personnel, some of whom paid the supreme price to ensure peace. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” he said.

The endorsement signals the APC’s early mobilization in Yobe State as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the next general elections.
