The Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation (ZSF) has disbursed over N205,603,000 to support medical care, education, and welfare for vulnerable Nigerians, as part of its ongoing humanitarian interventions.
Speaking at a distribution held yesterday at Hajj Mbarur Hall in Anthony, Lagos, the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Prince Sulayman Olagunju, said the initiative underscored the organisation’s commitment to improving the lives of indigent individuals and families across the country.
The event marked the official commencement of the foundation’s 2026 zakat distribution exercise nationwide, with beneficiaries drawn from different communities.

According to Olagunju, a total of 64 beneficiaries received medical support amounting to N85.08 million to address critical healthcare needs. In addition, 67 students were awarded educational support worth N19.55 million to aid their academic pursuits.
He added that within the last two months, the foundation had also distributed food packs and cash support valued at N105 million to over 30,000 poor and vulnerable households.

“Including today’s intervention, the foundation has disbursed a cumulative N209.63 million across its programmes in recent weeks, reaching thousands of beneficiaries and reinforcing our commitment to social welfare,” he said.
Describing the initiative as more than just a ceremony, the ED/CEO noted that the intervention reflects the values of compassion, responsibility, and solidarity inherent in zakat and sadaqat.

He stressed that access to quality healthcare and education remains vital to human dignity and societal progress, adding that the Foundation’s efforts are aimed at easing financial burdens while empowering beneficiaries for a better future.
The foundation also commended its donors, partners, and volunteers for their continued support, noting that their contributions have made it possible to sustain and expand its programmes.
“To our beneficiaries, this support comes with respect and prayers for your wellbeing. We encourage you to make the best use of this opportunity and, by Allah’s grace, become contributors to society in the future,” he said.
