The First Lady said the annual intervention is designed to cushion economic hardship and strengthen inclusive social support during the fasting period.
To ensure transparency and accountability, ward-level distribution committees have been inaugurated to work closely with local government authorities and community stakeholders. She charged committee members to uphold integrity and fairness, describing leadership as a sacred trust.
Hajiya Huriyya expressed appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for what she described as compassionate and people-focused leadership, reaffirming the administration’s resolve to prioritise the welfare of vulnerable residents.
She also commended the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Zakkat and Endowment Board, development partners, donors, and volunteers for their collaboration.
As Ambassador of the Zakkat and Endowment Board, she reiterated her commitment to sustaining Ramadan and Sallah welfare initiatives for orphans and the less privileged across the 19 Emirates in the state.
