Zamfara State Government yesterday urged council chairmen in the state to uphold good governance and work in harmony with all stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and grassroots development.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr Ahmed Yandi, made the call while announcing the reinstatement of the Chairman of Kaura Namoda local government, Mannir Mu’azu Haidara, following his clearance by the State House of Assembly.
The statement said, the ministry “wishes to inform the general public that the Chairman of Kaura Namoda Local Government, Hon. Mannir Mu’azu Haidara, has officially resumed his duties following his clearance by the Zamfara State House of Assembly.
“It will be recalled that the Chairman was recently suspended by the House of Assembly to allow for a thorough investigation into certain allegations. After due legislative scrutiny and consideration, the House has found no grounds to sustain the suspension and has accordingly cleared the Chairman of all allegations.”
“With this development, the Ministry hereby directs the immediate reinstatement of the Chairman, who is expected to continue discharging his duties in accordance with the laws guiding local government administration in the state,” the statement said.
It urged all staff and stakeholders to extend their full cooperation to the chairman to ensure continuity and stability in the administration of the local government.
