No fewer than 2,000 households across four local government areas of Osun State have benefited from the distribution of food items and cash gifts to mark the Ramadan.
Abdullahi Ayodeji Olaiya, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), urged residents to offer ‘victory’ prayer for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji(AMBO), ahead of this year’s election.
Speaking yesterday after his Annual Ramadan Lecture, in Osogbo, Olaiya noted that the programme was held to further propagate the teachings from the Holy Quran to strengthen unity, love and brotherhood.

Olaiya added: ‘‘This outreach is a yearly programme aimed at appreciating Allah and assisting the needy. For this year’s programme, 2,000 households will benefit from the food and cash package. This is sixth edition.
“This is an annual event and we have been very consistent since we introduced it. I believe so much in advancing the cause of humanity because i know that whatever position anyone is, it is just by His grace not by anything hence my resolve to always put smile to the people.”
The state House of Assembly hopeful equally urged party members and Osun residents to pray for victory for the APC guber candidate, Oyebamiji. He said: “This is the only way that we can witness even development.
“Aside this, these gifts are dedicated to advance the cause of our governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO.
