2027: Allies procure APC Senate form for Oyetola’s son
Friends, political associates and supporters of Femi Oyetola, son of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial nomination and expression-of-interest

Friends, political associates and supporters of Femi Oyetola, son of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial nomination and expression-of-interest forms for him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Osogbo by Kehinde Ayantunji, a former Senior Special Assistant on Student Affairs and Social Mobilisation to the ex-Osun governor. Ayantunji said the forms were presented on behalf of a “Committee of Friends” to stakeholders of the Osun APC Youth Wing.
According to him, the group raised ₦20 million to secure the APC senatorial ticket for Oyetola, citing confidence in his leadership capacity and a desire to encourage his entry into the Osun Central Senatorial race.

Ayantunji noted that the decision was informed by Oyetola’s track record in youth empowerment and political inclusion over the past decade, which supporters believe can be extended to legislative representation at the national level.
At the presentation, the Osun APC State Youth Leader, Goke Akinwomimo, commended the initiative, describing it as a strategic move to deepen youth participation within the party.
He urged more young party members to seek elective offices and called on party leadership to prioritise youth inclusion in candidate selection ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a further show of support, no fewer than 120 APC youth leaders from local government and ward levels across the 10 councils in Osun Central Senatorial District endorsed the move and backed the submission of the forms to the party’s national secretariat.
Among those present at the event were the APC Deputy State Youth Leader, Hon. Ibraheem Wasiu Ayinde; Osun Central APC Senatorial Youth Leader, Hon. Wasiu Iyanda; Chairman of Ede South Local Government, Hon. Kola Salami; and other party stakeholders and youth leaders from across the district.
