Leaders and stakeholders in Orlu Zone have backed Mr. Uche Ben Odunzeh for the senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his competence and capacity to represent the district at the National Assembly.

The endorsement followed a high-level consultative meeting held over the weekend, which brought together political leaders, youth representatives, women groups and community stakeholders from across the zone.

Speaking on behalf of the leaders, a prominent elder statesman said the decision to support Odunzeh was based on his track record, commitment to grassroots development and vision for effective representation.

“We have carefully assessed the aspirants, and we are convinced that Uche Ben Odunzeh possesses the competence, integrity, and experience needed to move Orlu Zone forward. This is a collective decision in the interest of our people,” he said.

Participants at the meeting stressed the need for unity within the zone, urging political actors to work together in support of a candidate capable of effectively representing the people at the national level.

Youth leaders at the gathering expressed confidence in Odunzeh’s candidacy, noting that his inclusive leadership style and accessibility resonate with young people.

“He understands the challenges facing young people and has consistently demonstrated willingness to engage and empower us. We believe he will be a strong voice for Orlu Zone,” a youth representative said.

Women groups also pledged their support, highlighting the importance of electing a senator who prioritises social welfare, economic empowerment and community development.

In his response, Odunzeh appreciated the endorsement and assured constituents of his readiness to deliver quality representation if elected.

“I am deeply honoured by this show of confidence. This is not just about me, but about the future of Orlu Zone. I am committed to serving with dedication, transparency, and a clear focus on development,” he said.

He also called for unity and peaceful political engagement as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
