Ahead of President Bola Tinubu's visit to Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, to receive two Senators and two House of Representatives members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Ademola Adeleke and the opposition party have exchanged accusations.

APC had fixed Saturday for the official welcome of five incumbent members of the National Assembly, namely: Senator Francis Fadahunsi (Osun East), Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi(Osun Central), Hon. Oluwole Oke(Obokun/Ori-Ade), Hon. Sanya Omirin (Ijesa South Federal Constituency) and Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro(Ife Federal Constituency), into the party, which President Tinubu has planned to receive them into the party.

Meanwhile, Adeleke, through his Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, alleged that “Sequel to a one-day visit of President Tinubu to Osogbo, Osun state government has uncovered a sinister planned protest by the opposition APC in the state to carry out a self-sponsored protest to cause breakdown of law and order with a view to blackmailing Osun ACCORD/PDP as the mastermind.

"We want to make it clear that neither ACCORD nor PDP in Osun state has anything to do with the planned protest, notwithstanding the ongoing logjams associated with the withheld LG allocation of the state.

"APC's deliberately planned protest of tomorrow, without any fear of contradiction is a diversionary scheme to blackmail Mr Governor and his administration, which by the special grace of God and support of the peace loving people of Osun state is already dead before its execution tomorrow as they (APC) play host to the President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Meanwhile, APC through its Director of Media, Chief Kola Olabisi, berated Adeleke over the allegation, saying, “Any government that is not peopled with the confused entities would not come up with such gibberish, baseless and an unfounded allegation of the members of our party to plan a protest against our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has been toiling day and night to give qualitative governance to the nation.

“Those lies churned out by the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led government are too cheap and could only have emanated from a demented mind. Come to think of it, what would be the basis for any protest against the visit of the national leader of our party, when his visit is unarguably a source of unlimited joy for the members and supporters of our party?

“Our advice is that the state commissioner of police and other statutory security agencies should keep watch on Governor Adeleke and his cohorts as they are fond of accusing others of their devilish intention.”
