The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Francis Fadahunsi has described the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu by Governor Ademola Adeleke and some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers as an afterthought.
Fadahunsi held that the move lacked sincerity and political conviction, maintaining that the gesture does not reflect the true position of the PDP or its loyal members in the state.

The Senator, who led four other members National Assembly in Osun State at the weekend to joined All Progressives Congress(APC), speaking with newsmen at his residence in his hometown, Ilase-Ijesa on Monday, also dismissed the claim that President Tinubu is drifting Nigeria to a one-party state.
According to him, “I can tell you that most of us who are defecting to APC saw the need because we believe in his reforms that it will bring better Nigeria. For me, President Tinubu has done well and will do more for my constituency.

“He is not drifting Nigeria into a one-party state, nothing of such, in fact, he is the most criticised President. He is criticised and he amends immediately. It is even easier to criticise when you are inside, he will listen quickly and attend to it.”
Speaking about endorsement of President Tinubu by Governor Ademola Adeleke, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and both federal and state legislatures, Senator Fadahunsi said, “their decision is belated, they are just trying to join a moving train.”
“All the advice I gave to Governor Adeleke to be quick with joining APC, he was so lackadaisical about it. I visited him to discuss it with him, he was not responsive to it. By the time he wanted to join, he abandoned us that started it, he was pursuing people in Abuja, Ogun and Lagos States which eventually failed.”
The endorsement they are now doing for the president is an afterthought, let us wait and see if it will pay them in elections to come, he added.
