Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has received music star Davido in the state following his recent visit linked to his appointment to the 2026 re-election campaign team.
Davido has been named Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council Committee, with the mandate to mobilise young voters in support of the governor’s second-term bid.
The singer announced the appointment on X last month, expressing readiness to contribute to a smooth and effective campaign.
During the visit, Davido was accorded a warm reception across Osun State.
At a press briefing, Governor Adeleke formally unveiled him as a member of the campaign team, describing the artiste as a dynamic mobiliser with the reach and influence required to engage the youth population.
In a statement, the governor said: “Today, I warmly welcome my nephew and global music icon, David Adeleke (@davido), back home and into our campaign.”
"A renowned mobilizer and supporter of our campaign in the past and now the Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council Committee for the 2026 Imole Campaign Council, David brings the energy, influence, and passion needed to mobilise and inspire our vibrant youth population".
The governor also highlighted the administration’s focus on youth development over the past three years and reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising the welfare and prosperity of Osun residents.
He called for continued support for the Imole continuity agenda.
"Over the past three years, our administration has implemented policies and programmes that support youth growth and development across all sectors in Osun State.
"I assure every citizen of Osun State of our unwavering commitment to your welfare and prosperity. We will continue to put you first and protect your interests at all times. Together, let us sustain the Imole continuity agenda for the benefit of all”, he added.
