Nigeria Wrestling Federation President Bashir Adewale Adeniyi  has dedicated the four gold medals won by Nigeria's female wrestlers on the opening day of the African Senior Wrestling Championships in Alexandria to First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

Adeniyi, who also serves as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, credited Tinubu's influence in inspiring Nigerian women to excel.

"I must say congratulations to Her Excellency, First Lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu, for the inspiration she has given to Nigerian women to excel in whatever they do. I also want to congratulate all Nigerians for this feat," he said.

Nigeria claimed four of five available gold medals in the female wrestling event on Friday. Ogunsanya Christianah opened the account with a 7-1 victory over Nogona Bakayoko  of Cote d'Ivoire  in the 53kg, before Jumoke Adekoye defeated Algerian Achouak Tekouk 8-4 in the 57kg.
