Nigeria's boxing scene is set for a major boost as top undefeated fighters prepare to headline the "Clash of the Unbeaten" tournament scheduled for April 26th .

The event, organised by De Lad's Boxing Promotion in collaboration with Ariya Networks, will see rising stars from Nigeria and across Africa step into the ring in what promises to be a defining night for professional boxing on the continent. Proceedings are billed to commence at 5:00 p.m.

Speaking ahead of the bout, Alhaji Wahid Alabi of De Lad's Boxing Promotion highlighted the significance of the event in creating opportunities for emerging fighters to showcase their talents on a bigger stage.

Also lending his voice, Director of Productions at Ariya Networks, Prince Tunji Aderibigbe, noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering top-tier sporting content while providing a platform for African athletes to gain wider visibility.

The Nigeria Boxing Board of Control was represented at the announcement by its Secretary General, Remi Aboderin, who stood in for President Rafiu Oladipo. He reaffirmed the board's support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the structure and credibility of professional boxing in Nigeria.

In the main event, undefeated fighters Taiwo 'Esepor' Agbaje and Tosin 'Sojar Boy' Osaigbovo will square off in a high-stakes contest. Osaigbovo, who boasts a record of 12 wins and eight knockouts, will be making his first tilt at a title, fighting for the WBA lightweight belt. His opponent, Agbaje, enters the ring with an impressive 18 wins — 12 by knockout — and is a former WBF Intercontinental featherweight champion.

At the face-off, Agbaje made a ₦2 million bet, confidently declaring that he will knock out Osaigbovo in the seventh round — a declaration that has added extra tension to the already anticipated clash.

Responding, Osaigbovo dismissed the claim, insisting he will go the full distance and secure victory.

He further stated that even in the event of a draw, he is prepared for two additional rounds to ensure a decisive outcome.

The undercard features a compelling lineup of bouts, including Taye Fajimi against Saddam Oladipupo in an eight-round lightweight contest and Segun Bobaniyi taking on Ahmed Lawal in a 10-round lightweight clash.

Fans will also witness a cross-border showdown tagged the "Jollof Derby," as Nigeria's Afolabi Shittu faces Ghana's David Tego, adding a regional rivalry to the night. In another bout, Toheeb Hassan will go up against Oluwatosin Adeshina in an eight-round featherweight contest.

Chairman of Ariya Networks, Dr Idris Olagoke Badmus, expressed excitement about the event, describing it as a major step in repositioning African boxing on the global stage.

"We are extremely excited about the 'Clash of the Unbeaten' tournament and what it represents for Nigerian and African boxing. This initiative is more than just a sporting event — it is a deliberate step toward building a sustainable ecosystem for professional boxing across the continent. We believe this platform will not only showcase exceptional African talent but also open doors for global recognition and career advancement for our fighters," he said.

Badmus further revealed that the organisation is already planning a premium pay-per-view tournament slated for August or September , aimed at further expanding the reach and commercial viability of the sport.
