Executive branding consultant and beauty queen, Princess Agunbiade, has unveiled her new book, “Beauty, Brains and the Bag,” in Lagos, calling on women to embrace their full potential and resist societal stereotypes.
The launch, themed “The BBB Woman Experience,” took place at Alliance Française de Lagos, Mike Adenuga Centre, Ikoyi, and attracted a diverse audience of professionals, creatives, and advocates for women’s empowerment.
Speaking at the event, Agunbiade said many women have been conditioned by societal expectations to downplay their ambitions or suppress parts of their identity in order to gain acceptance. She noted that such pressures often lead women to make compromises that limit their ability to thrive.
She described as damaging the notion that women must choose between being beautiful, intelligent, or successful, stressing that these qualities are not mutually exclusive.
Reflecting on her personal journey, Agunbiade said she deliberately rejected such constraints, choosing instead to define success on her own terms by embracing beauty, intelligence, and achievement without compromise.
“In my life, I refused every one of the false choices I was handed. I decided to be beautiful, smart, and successful. That decision was mine to make, and I refused to listen to any voice that suggested I had to remain small,” she said.

The author explained that her mission is to help women understand that they are not confined to a single identity. Rather, they are multifaceted individuals capable of excelling in multiple areas simultaneously.
“Women are expansive beings. We are like kaleidoscopes with many facets. There is no need to choose one side of ourselves when we can bring our full, authentic selves into the world,” she added.
Agunbiade further described the book as a guide that encourages women to embrace their wholeness—combining beauty, intellect, and ambition—without apology.
She stressed that the work goes beyond conventional self-help literature, offering instead a practical, step-by-step transformation guide designed to help women unlearn limiting beliefs and reclaim their personal power.
According to her, the three-year writing process was intentional, as she sought to produce a deeply researched and impactful resource that speaks to real-life struggles and aspirations.
“*Beauty, Brains and the Bag* is not just another self-help book. It is a bold and unapologetic argument that many women have been deliberately disconnected from their power—and that they can take it back,” she said.
Agunbiade revealed that the inspiration for the book came from her work with a growing community of ambitious women through the BBB Woman Experience platform. Over the years, she observed recurring patterns of hesitation among women who felt compelled to dilute their presence or make compromises in order to fit societal expectations.
Motivated by these experiences, she said she developed the book as a comprehensive resource to provide women with the tools, mentorship, and support needed to forge meaningful and authentic paths in life.

Looking ahead, the author announced plans for an extensive book tour aimed at distributing 5,000 copies of the book across six cities in three countries. She described each copy as “a small act of revolution,” capable of inspiring transformation in the lives of women.
She added that the broader BBB movement will leverage social media platforms, as well as engagements in universities, schools, and other public spaces, to challenge outdated perceptions and promote a more empowering narrative about womanhood.
“We want women to begin to see themselves as complete human beings—not objects. Women are capable leaders who can achieve extraordinary things. Our goal is to eliminate limiting stereotypes and inspire a generation of women who fully own their identity,” she said.
Chairperson of the event and former Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Mrs. Omotayo Omotosho, commended Agunbiade for her vision and courage. She described the author as a woman who embodies intellect, beauty, success, and a strong sense of purpose.
Omotosho encouraged participants to actively support the BBB Woman movement by promoting the book and ensuring its message reaches a wider audience, both within Nigeria and internationally.

She also advised women to maintain integrity in their pursuit of success, cautioning against shortcuts in the quest for wealth and status.
“Shortcuts may seem attractive, but they do not last. True success is built on values, discipline, and consistent effort,” she stated.
Also speaking, the Lead Pastor of Eden Centre, Dr. Akin Akinpelu, noted that the book is timely, as it aligns with a growing global movement of women rising to take their rightful place in leadership and influence—not as a competition, but as a fulfilment of long-overdue potential.
In her remarks, a fashion designer, Miriam Elisha, described the BBB movement as a reflection of a new generation of bold and intentional women who are unafraid to take up space while putting in the necessary work to succeed.
She added that the message of combining beauty, intellect, and financial success resonates strongly with women who are determined to redefine societal expectations and create their own paths.
The event concluded with a renewed call for women to embrace their full identity, challenge limiting norms, and pursue excellence without compromise.
