Special Adviser to Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, has assured citizens of renewed determination of the state security outfit, Agunaechemba, to tackle all forms of criminality in the state.

Emeakayi, who gave the assurance while addressing over 300 commanders and personnel of the security outfit in Awka, says a special unit is being formed, comprising mostly civilians, to monitor activities of its personnel against any form of extortion and illegal conduct.

He stressed that indiscipline would not be tolerated going forward, revealing the creation of different units within the security outfit to ensure dominance and zero tolerance for crime and criminality.

Emeakayi said more and better equipment were being provided to enhance operations, including additional drones, cameras and communication gear.

“Government is also focusing on improving welfare to ensure personnel are better motivated to carry out their duties effectively,” he added.

Congratulating the governor on his successful second term inauguration, Emeakayi, recently reappointed by the governor, described Soludo’s second term as renewed call for security dominance and decisive tackling of crimes and criminality.

“We are here to tell you all that this is a new beginning in our activities; we are assuring Ndi Anambra that things will get better.

“We apologise in any way we might have erred, we are determined to improve. Mr. Governor is taking security to a new level, as we are now going to be proactive rather than reactive,” he said.
