A socio-cultural group, Aigubuosinmwin Worldwide, has backed Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s aspiration to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Edo South senatorial seat.
The group said Ize-Iyamu represents the broader interests of the Benin people.
In a statement by its President, Osaro Iyamu Culture, the group said sustained advocacy on why Edo South must produce its own senator in next year’s general elections has reawakened the consciousness of many Benin sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora.

It said: “Edo South deserves a senator who understands our rich culture, traditions, interests and aspirations, who can speak for us, advance the cause of our people, and defend the great Benin Kingdom without compromise in Abuja.
“This is no longer just a political matter, but a question of identity, cultural survival, progress and self-determination within the Nigerian federation.
“We are not spectators in 2027; we are stakeholders.
“To reiterate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu represents the broader interests of the Benin people, and we are with him on this journey to advance our cause at the National Assembly.”
