Residents of Ajah in Lagos State organised a Unity, Love and Progress Walk across the community in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his second-term ambition.

The Easter Monday event drew a large turnout, with participants marching through key parts of Ajah to demonstrate solidarity with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Baale of Ajah, High Chief Ismail Adewale Adamson, commended Tinubu’s reforms and development initiatives, affirming the community’s backing for his re-election. He said residents were united in their support and committed to sustaining peace, love and progress within the area.

Also speaking, the community secretary, Prince Kazeem Odunlami, described the walk as both a celebration of unity and a demonstration of support for the President’s agenda, noting that residents were determined to see Tinubu secure a landslide victory in the next election.

"We are in support of our father, the father of the nation, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to let him know that we are in support of what he has been doing for the past two or three years.

"Then we are in support of him for the second time, so that all the indigene and non-indigenous and all the community in Ajah support him for the second time.

"And then we are working for peace and love, and progress of the community, Nigerians and the world.

"I control the Ajah community, as you can all see, the crowd, we own Ajah, everybody knows that Ajah belongs to us. I delivered my community for the All Progressive Congress (APC) during the last election," the traditional ruler said.

Adamson added that the community was ready to give full support to the president's second-term agenda.

Everybody in the community has an APC membership card and also a Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to cast their vote, and all the votes are going for the APC," he said.

Prince Kazeem, Odunlami, the Secretary to the Community, said that the community was fully ready to give support to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

"As you can see, the banner speaks for itself. You can see the mammoth crowd, people from Ajah and sundry, they are here to rejoice with one another, with the traditional ruler to support the president's Renewed Hope Agenda.

"We are celebrating the second edition of Work for Love and Progress in support of the movement of Renewal Hope Agenda, so that we can support the Asiwaju being the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to emerge as a landslide winner in 2027.

"That is why we name this work two-in-one. One, Work for Love and Progress.

The second one is to support the movement of our president. In his mandate, we shall stand," Odunlami said.

Hon. Akindele Babatunde, the Leader of the Legislative House Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), said that the street walk was to promote peace, unity and progress in the community and to give full support to the president's second-term agenda.

"Yes, the walk is for us to say peace and love to the community. The essence is to collaborate with the youth and the community and to ensure we are on the same page.

"We are in peace and harmony in the community. Because last year, we started this program with peace and unity.

“And after peace and unity in the community, there should be love and progress.  So this is the love and progress we are upholding.

“At the same time, we are supporting the president's second term agenda so the community are in total support, 100 per cent support of Asiwaju candidacy for the APC 2027 presidential election.”

The Walk started from the Baale Palace, moving to Thomas Estate. From Thomas Estate, heading to the Jubilee Bridge, heading to the Eleganza, then we will come back to the community to enjoy ourselves at a big party.
