Central Coordinate Movement, a youth-driven group with a claimed membership of over 10,000, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term and Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for governor in Ogun State.
At an event in Ogun Central, Chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide (Champion Akile Egbaland), described the endorsement as a strategic move rooted in confidence in the leadership of both and a commitment to continuity in governance.
According to Elewide, the movement’s membership strength represents a significant voting bloc, with members reportedly in possession of valid PVCs. He emphasised that the group is mobilising early to ensure maximum participation in 2027 elections.
“Our group, with over 10,000 members, is fully committed to supporting Bola Tinubu for a second term and Senator Olamilekan Yayi for governor in Ogun State. Every one of our members is an eligible voter, and we are determined to deliver votes for APC at presidential and state levels,” Elewide said.
The event attracted political stakeholders, community leaders, and others, underscoring the momentum in Ogun’s political landscape. Among those present were Sunday Igboho, Bukola Olopade, Shuaibu Salisu, Afolabi Afuape, Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, Balogun Afeez Olaniyi, and Bode Mustapha.
Observers noted that the gathering served not only as an endorsement platform but also as a show of grassroots mobilization strength within Ogun Central, a key senatorial district in the state. The presence of influential figures from political, cultural, and community spheres added weight to the event’s significance.

Adding a cultural dimension to the political gathering, popular Fuji and indigenous musicians entertained attendees, turning the event into a blend of political engagement and social celebration. Performances by artists such as Sulaimon Atawewe, Alayo Singer, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, and Shefiu Alao energized the crowd and reinforced the grassroots appeal of the movement.
Political analysts suggest that early endorsements like this could play a role in shaping party dynamics and voter alignment ahead of 2027, particularly in states like Ogun where internal party positioning and regional influence are critical.
While formal campaigns remain some distance away, the CCM’s declaration signals the beginning of intensified political alignment and grassroots coalition-building, especially among youth groups seeking to influence electoral outcomes.
As the political climate gradually builds toward the next election cycle, endorsements from organized groups such as CCM may prove pivotal in determining both party strategies and candidate viability across key regions in Nigeria.
