Businessman Mahmoud Bala Alfa has announced the first batch of beneficiaries under his ICT Training Scholarship programme, a youth-focused initiative designed to enhance digital skills and improve employability among graduates in Kogi East.

In a statement issued by the campaign office of Dr. Alfa, who is seeking a senatorial seat, the selection was described as the outcome of a merit-based screening process aimed at identifying candidates with strong academic credentials and the capacity to excel in technology-driven sectors.

According to the statement, the scholarship programme is structured to equip participants with practical ICT skills aligned with emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

The Campaign Office said that shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly with details regarding onboarding, training timelines, and programme expectations.

The ICT scholarship forms part of a broader agenda centered on youth empowerment, skills development, and sustainable opportunity creation across Kogi East, reinforcing what aides describe as a shift from rhetoric to structured human capital investment.
