The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled Tuesday, March 24, 2026, for the screening of aspirants contesting for national offices ahead of its forthcoming national convention.

The party also announced that its zonal congresses will be held on Wednesday across designated cities in the six geopolitical zones.

A notice issued on Sunday in Abuja by the party’s Aspirants’ Screening Committee, and signed by its Secretary, Malam Isa Yuguda, stated that the screening exercise will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, commencing at 9:00 a.m.

According to the notice, all aspirants who purchased and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms are required to appear before the committee, with attendance made compulsory. Candidates were also directed to come along with all necessary documents for verification.

Yuguda advised aspirants to arrive early to ensure a seamless screening process.

In the same vein, the APC confirmed that zonal congresses will hold on Wednesday in the six geopolitical zones. The Southwest congress, initially slated for Ibadan, has been moved to Lagos, while Enugu will host the Southeast. Rivers and Cross River states will jointly host the South-South congress.

Further details contained in the adjusted schedule, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, indicated that Kaduna will host the Northwest congress, Gombe and Bauchi states will co-host the Northeast, while Nasarawa State will host the Northcentral zone.

The party has also fixed Thursday, March 26, to entertain appeals arising from the zonal congresses, while the national convention is scheduled to hold between March 27 and 28, 2026, in Abuja.
