The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Ede Dafinone for re-election.

The endorsement, backed by all 11 ward coordinators of the party in the council, was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting in Sapele, where party leaders said the decision was driven by confidence in the leadership and performance of the three political figures.

Pioneer APC chairman in Sapele, Chief Lucky Esigie, who moved the motion for their adoption as sole candidates, said the endorsement reflected the determination of party stakeholders to support continuity and strengthen the party’s political direction ahead of 2027.

The motion, seconded by Mrs Thelma Tonwe, was adopted by voice vote and greeted with a standing ovation.

Convener of the meeting, Chief Patrick Akamovba, said the endorsement of Senator Dafinone was rooted in what he described as his visible performance and quality representation, insisting the lawmaker had built widespread support across Delta Central through his record in office.

Akamovba declared that those planning to contest the Delta Central Senate seat should reconsider, maintaining that Dafinone had already established a formidable political structure that would be difficult to confront.

He contrasted Dafinone’s representation with past leadership in the district, arguing that the senator had spread development across the senatorial district rather than concentrating projects in one axis, a comment many interpreted as a veiled reference to former political arrangements.

With Sapele APC openly backing Tinubu, Oborevwori and Dafinone, analysts believe the declaration has sent an early signal on the battle ahead, while reinforcing the perception that political manoeuvring for the 2027 contest may already be underway.
