The Edo State Government has begun efforts to settle the rift between Ossiomo Power and its Chinese partner, Jiangsu Communication Clean Energy Technology Co., Ltd (CCETC).
Ossiomo Power used to provide 24-hour electricity to its customers in Benin City and the surrounding areas from its power plant in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.
It no longer generates electricity due to a disagreement with CCETC following the shutdown of its power plant.
Edo Commissioner for Power, Hon Paul Usenbo, said the state government's plan to resolve the conflict was part of a broader plan to ensure residents enjoy an adequate power supply.
Hon Usenbo spoke in Benin City at a stakeholders' engagement meeting on power supply improvement.
Usenbo said the state government was considering establishing a committee to resolve the impasse between Ossiomo and its Chinese partners.
