To mark International Condom Day 2026, the Centre for Population Health Initiatives (CPHI), a non-profit community-based organization, launched a condom and lubricant vending machine initiative on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

The Executive Director, Mrs. Elizabeth Shoyemi, said the initiative, the first of its kind in Nigeria, expands access to essential sexual and reproductive health commodities through discreet and convenient channels.

Shoyemi said the launch took place at the CPHI facility in Lagos with board members and partners in attendance.

CPHI plans to deploy the vending machines in strategic locations across Lagos and Rivers States. These locations include hotels, nightlife, and entertainment venues, and other high-traffic social spaces.

This placement strategy ensures timely access to prevention tools in settings where demand remains high.

The initiative reflects CPHI’s commitment to practical solutions that strengthen HIV prevention, promote safer sexual practices, and remove barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive health services.
