Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed that Chukwueze will miss the trip to the Stadium of Light due to a calf injury.

Chukwueze suffered the injury during Fulham's 3–0 defeat at Manchester City and so missed the FA Cup victory over Stoke City.

Marco Silva described the injury as minor, but said it was enough to rule the forward out of the weekend fixture.

“The only player who is going to be out of the game is Chukwueze. After the City match, he felt something in his calf — nothing serious — but even this morning he was only involved in some light drills,” Silva told reporters.

“Probably in the first part of next week, he should be completely ready to work with the team, and he will be back for the next game.”

Chukwueze, who joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan, has been impressive in the Premier League following a difficult spell in Serie A.

The winger has recorded three goals and four assists in 13 league appearances as Fulham continue their push for a place in European club competitions next season.
