The Erinja Elite Youth Group has congratulated and commended Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun as he bows out as Nigeria's 22nd Inspector-General of Police.
In a statement signed by the group's President, Tolu Akinwunmi, issued recently in Erinja-Orile, Yewa, Ogun State, the group, on behalf of the people of Erinja and under the leadership of the Elerinja of Erinja, Oba Ebenezer Alani Egunjobi (FCA), described Egbetokun's tenure as historic and impactful.
The association noted that Egbetokun made history as the first Inspector-General of Police of Ogun State descent, a development it said brought immense pride to Erinja, Yewa land and the entire state.
According to the statement, his leadership of the Nigeria Police Force was marked by a strong commitment to institutional reform, professionalism and intelligence-driven policing.
It highlighted his efforts to strengthen police intelligence structures, expand tactical capacity, improve manpower through large-scale recruitment, enhance officer welfare and modernise investigative and digital policing frameworks.

The statement read in part: ''Egbetokun advanced police reform initiatives at a time of complex national security challenges, advocating improved training, better funding frameworks and stronger institutional accountability to reposition the Force as a modern, responsive and people-centred institution.''
The statement also cited an earlier commendation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who reportedly described Egbetokun's tenure as one that reflected dedication to strengthening internal security and institutional reforms within the Police Force.
The Erinja Elite Youth Group described the former IGP as a shining example and source of inspiration to the sons and daughters of Erinja and Yewa, noting that his career demonstrates that dedication, discipline, and integrity can lead to the highest levels of national service.
“His giant strides in reforming and repositioning the Nigeria Police Force have brought pride to the entire Erinja community and Yewa, and his achievements will continue to inspire young people from Erinja to aspire to excellence in public service and leadership,” the statement added.
