IBEJU-Lekki Local Government has opened bids for projects, demonstrating commitment to transparency, accountability, and value-driven governance.

Chairman, Abdullahi Olowa, was represented at the event by Secretary to the Local Government, Adewale Adebanjo.

Adebanjo, in a statement by Akadiri Ayorinde, chief Press secretary to the chairman,  noted procurement is not merely a routine exercise but the bedrock of sustainable development.

“Our administration recognises that procurement goes beyond routine procedures. It is the foundation upon which sustainable development is built. Every project undertaken by this council must be guided by due process, fairness, and value for money,” Adebanjo said on behalf of the chairman.

He urged contractors to uphold highest standards of integrity, competence, and timely project delivery, urging them to align with the vision of transparent and people-centred development.

Dr. Adekoya Adesanya, council manager, opened the bid process. Twenty-nine bids were received and opened.

Head of Procurement, Mrs. Raodat Issa, said the advertisement for the bid opening was published in national newspapers in the last 14 days to enable residents to witness the process.

She stressed that the exercise was conducted to ensure fairness, transparency, and credibility in the procurement process.

The bid opening was observed by representatives of various stakeholders, including Youth Bodies, Student Bodies, Members of the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), and several Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), further validating the openness of the process.
