"While in school, l joined a local church choir as a songwriter and performer. My exceptional freestyling skills, bold stage presence, and ability to energize audiences quickly earned me recognition as one of the best rappers on campus. My unique confidence and life-inspired lyrics led to the adoption of the stage name “Cruz of Life.”

During this period, China further said he won several awards for representing his institution and making waves within the campus music scene.

"In 2016, l relocated back to Lagos to further hone my craft and face the realities of the music industry. I made a strong comeback in 2020 with the hit single “Time 4 Money,” featuring one-hit wonder Yovi. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown temporarily slowed my momentum", he said.

Determined to stay relevant, Cruz of Life returned to the music scene in 2024 with songs such as “Good Conduct” and*“Gum Body.” Since then, he has maintained consistency with a string of releases, including “KOV,” “Online Money,” and “TMO,” reaffirming his commitment to growth and musical excellence.

With the forthcoming “ON IT” EP, Cruz of Life aims to keep his fans engaged and energized, drawing from his musical arsenal and evolving artistry. The collaboration with Ray Emodi is already generating anticipation, as fans look forward to another exciting chapter in his musical journey.
