Accredited Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) in Nigeria have offered to partner with the Federal Government to address the country’s persistent security challenges, pledging to deploy their grassroots networks and expertise in support of national efforts.

The groups, in a statement signed by Kunle Yusuff, Director General of the Civil Society Organisations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative, said they are ready to collaborate with relevant authorities to build a safer and more secure nation.

They emphasised that CSOs and CBOs possess unique advantages, including community trust and local presence, which can significantly enhance intelligence gathering and early response mechanisms.

“We are ready to partner with the government to address insecurity challenges. We are committed to working together to build a safer, more secure, and prosperous Nigeria,” the statement said.

The organisations specifically urged the Federal Government to leverage their capacities in providing credible information and early warning systems, supporting intelligence gathering and analysis, facilitating community engagement, and promoting peacebuilding and conflict resolution initiatives.

According to the groups, closer collaboration between government agencies and civil society actors would strengthen ongoing efforts to curb violence and restore stability across affected communities.

They also extended heartfelt condolences to victims of insecurity across the country, praying for the repose of those who lost their lives and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

“As key stakeholders in national development, CSOs and CBOs play a vital role in promoting peace, stability, and security,” the statement noted, adding that a unified approach remains critical to overcoming the nation’s security challenges.
