Nigerian-born singer and songwriter Dana King is set to release a new extended play titled “Maestro of Ballads” in May 2026, marking another significant step in his evolving international music career.

The forthcoming EP will feature five tracks and is expected to showcase a bold sonic direction that moves beyond conventional Afrobeats.

Known for his genre-fluid artistry, Dana King blends elements of alternative pop, soft rock, folk, R&B, soul, and African influences, creating a sound that resonates across diverse audiences.

With “Maestro of Ballads,” the artist expands his creative boundaries even further, incorporating Asian-inspired sounds alongside country and soul music.

This genre fusion reflects his commitment to musical experimentation and storytelling, a hallmark that has defined his work over the years.

Dana King, born Akinola Daniel Ojelabi, has steadily built a reputation as a distinctive voice in both the Nigerian and international music scenes.

His rise has been driven not by viral moments but by consistency, originality, and emotionally rich songwriting that connects deeply with listeners.

In 2025, he earned widespread recognition after winning Songwriter of the Year at the Eko Heritage Awards, an achievement that underscored his growing influence and artistic credibility within the industry.

Now based in Scotland after completing his studies at Glasgow Caledonian University, Dana King has continued to gain traction within the UK music space, where his genre-blending sound and introspective style have positioned him as one of the emerging voices to watch.

The upcoming EP is expected to further solidify his reputation as a global artist unafraid to explore new musical territories.

As anticipation builds, “Maestro of Ballads” may well serve as a defining project that introduces Dana King’s evolving sound to an even wider audience.
