Aspirant for Delta South Senatorial District, Itiako Ikpokpo, at the weekend stepped up consultations ahead of the 2027 race, engaging with the leadership of the Isoko Development Union (IDU) and traditional rulers across Isokoland.

Declaring that his voice would “echo” if elected into the Senate, the former Director-General of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria pledged to deliver impactful representation beyond mere occupancy of office.

Ikpokpo, contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), told stakeholders at IDU House in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, that his ambition is anchored on a clearly defined framework — the C.L.U.E Agenda, representing Communication, Legislation, Unity, and Empowerment.

“Leadership must go beyond occupying positions—it must translate into real impact in the lives of our people and ensure their voices are heard at the highest levels. My voice will echo,” he said.

The two-time chairman of Isoko South Local Government lamented what he termed as gaps in communication, accessibility, and responsive leadership in Delta South over the past three years, promising to bridge them through a structured and interactive engagement system from day one if elected.

The consultation drew endorsements from across ethnic lines, with representatives of Itsekiri, Ijaw, and Urhobo communities in Warri South and Patani, urging the Isoko nation to align with a growing regional consensus in support of his candidacy.

Other dignitaries at the event included traditional rulers, alongside community President-Generals, prominent Isoko leaders and residents.
