Super Eagles players were in action across major European leagues yesterday, with several delivering notable performances for their clubs as the season approaches its decisive phase.

Nigeria forward Akor Adams was among the goals as Sevilla FC settled for a 1–1 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

Adams opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finishing clinically to give the Andalusian side an early lead. The hosts, however, were pegged back in the 50th minute when Alfonso Espino restored parity for Rayo Vallecano.

The 24-year-old Nigerian has now scored seven league goals with three assists in 22 La Liga appearances this season, underlining his growing influence in Sevilla’s attack. Adams was substituted in the 67th minute as Sevilla held on for a point that moved them to 13th position with 31 points from 27 matches.

His compatriot Chidera Ejuke made a second-half appearance, replacing Alexis Sánchez in the 68th minute. Ejuke has now featured 20 times in the league this season, contributing one goal and one assist.

In Italy, Gift Orban was involved for Hellas Verona, who secured an important 2–1 away victory over Bologna FC 1909 in Serie A.

Orban played almost the entire match, making it 23 league appearances this season, though he was unable to add to his seven goals and two assists. Verona’s victory slightly improved their fight against relegation, with the club now on 18 points from 28 matches, still battling to climb out of the danger zone.

Midfielder Ibrahim Olawoyin delivered another industrious performance for Çaykur Rizespor in their 1–0 victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig.

The decisive moment came in the 10th minute when Qazim Laçi converted from the penalty spot. Olawoyin completed the full match and has now made 19 league appearances this season, registering one goal and one assist as Rizespor climbed to eighth place with 30 points from 25 games.

In England, Nigerian duo Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze were involved as Fulham FC were knocked out of the FA Cup in the Fifth Round following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Southampton FC at Craven Cottage.

Iwobi came off the bench in the 65th minute to make his 27th appearance of the season, taking his tally to four goals and three assists across competitions. Bassey, however, remained an unused substitute as Fulham exited the competition after Ross Stewart converted a stoppage-time penalty for Southampton.

In Portugal, Terem Moffi featured for FC Porto in their thrilling 2–2 draw with SL Benfica in the Primeira Liga.

The Nigerian striker, who joined Porto from OGC Nice during the winter transfer window, was introduced in the 78th minute. The appearance was his third league outing for the Dragons, and he already has one goal for the club as they continue their push for the title.

Porto remain top of the table with 66 points from 25 matches, maintaining a four-point lead over Sporting CP, while Benfica sit third on 59 points.

In Belgium, Raphael Onyedika featured prominently for Club Brugge KV in their 2–2 draw with RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League.

The Nigerian midfielder played 89 minutes, marking his 31st appearance of the season, with three goals and two assists to his name so far.

The result left Brugge second on the table with 57 points from 28 matches, three points behind leaders Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, keeping the title race finely balanced.
