Edo State Commissioner for Water Resources and Sanitation, Washington Osifo, has tendered his resignation letter in line with the directive of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Osifo is seeking to contest for Uhunmwode/Orhionmwon Federal Constituency seat currently occupied by Billy Osawaru.
Other political appointees that have resigned included Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Okpebholo, Plus Alile.
Alile is seeking to contest for Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency seat.

A member of the board of Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, Osaze Igbinovia and a member of Edo State Audit Commission, Terry Igiebor, also tendered their resignation letters.
Governor Okpebholo had given political appointees and civil servants till March 1 to resign if they wanted to seek elective position.
