Ahead of the governorship election in Ekiti State, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Mr. Olaoluwa Dawodu, has inaugurated ward coordinators in Ikole and Oye Local Government Areas to mobilise support for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The inauguration, attended by party members, community stakeholders and caucus representatives, is aimed at strengthening ward-level political structures ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dawodu stressed the importance of grassroots organisation in sustaining governance and continuity of development.
He said the exercise was strategic to building a disciplined and coordinated political structure capable of consolidating the achievements recorded by the Oyebanji administration across Ekiti communities.
Dawodu commended the governor for what he described as stability, inclusive governance and developmental strides, noting that the next election would focus on preserving progress and expanding opportunities for residents of the state.

He also outlined plans to support programmes centred on education, youth engagement and welfare for vulnerable groups, adding that leadership must remain people-focused and development-driven.
He urged the coordinators to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, unity and discipline while maintaining close engagement with grassroots communities.
In his remarks, an APC member in Ikole, Abiodun Ajewole, described the exercise as motivating, expressing his readiness coalesce efforts with other coordinators to mobilise support for Governor Oyebanji.
Also, a party stakeholder in Oye Local Government, Mrs. Adeyemi, expressed confidence in the coordination process, saying members were committed to promoting continuity and development across the wards.
