Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji said on Monday that his administration had fulfilled all the promises made to the people during the 2022 governorship campaign.
Oyebanji made the remarks during his re-election campaign tour in the Oye and Ikole local government areas of the state ahead of the June 20 governorship election.
The governor said his administration had made significant progress in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, human capital development, security, and prudent resource management.
He added that the social contract signed with the Ekiti people in 2022 had been substantially fulfilled, describing himself as a leader committed to making and keeping promises.
“When we came to you in 2022, we promised infrastructure, and we delivered. We promised roads, electricity, improved healthcare facilities, schools, and support for market women, and we delivered,” he said.
“Above all, we promised security, and we have delivered. Ekiti is now rated as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.”
The governor, who cautioned against violence during the electioneering process, described the forthcoming governorship poll as “a war of votes and not of guns or cutlasses.”
He urged residents to shun political violence and support peaceful democratic participation.
The governor specifically commended residents of Ikole Local Government for their support, noting that the area had benefited immensely from his administration through appointments and infrastructure projects.
According to him, the restoration of peace along the Itapaji-Irele-Ipao-Oke Ako corridor remains one of the administration’s major achievements.
“If we have a government that is doing well, is it not good for it to continue?” Oyebanji asked.
He added that continuity in governance and alignment of vision were responsible for the development witnessed in many advanced countries.

Oyebanji charged party supporters to mobilise voters across polling units, saying the APC was targeting victory in all 16 local government areas and 177 wards in the state.
“We want to give the opposition 16-0 by winning all the local governments and all the wards. That is the record we want to set,” he said.
The governor also linked the Ekiti governorship election to the 2027 presidential election, stressing the need for the South-West to deliver massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said the APC was targeting 500,000 votes in the June 20 governorship poll and 700,000 votes for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Speaking at the rally, the Ekiti APC Chairman, Barrister Sola Elesin, praised Oyebanji’s performance, humility, and peace-building efforts, expressing confidence that the governor would secure re-election.
Similarly, a former Deputy Governor of the state, Chief Paul Alabi, said stakeholders in Ikole Local Government were solidly behind Oyebanji because of what he described as the governor’s generosity and developmental strides.
