Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has assured residents of a peaceful electoral process, stating that there will be no room for bloodshed, violence, or harassment.
Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Sunday in his hometown, Ikire, during a “Victory Prayer” organised by the Irewole Muslim Community.
He also expressed confidence in winning the August 15, 2026 governorship poll.
He maintained that his ambition is divinely ordained, pledging not to disappoint the people if elected.
“I want to tell you that you should not be perturbed. Violence and chaos will not be recorded before, during, and after the election. There will be no bloodshed. I assure you that no one will harass you. Adequate security will be provided to ensure free and fair elections,” he said.
The APC candidate promised to prioritise key sectors, including security, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, youth empowerment, and job creation.
“Our government will perform well across all sectors. Civil servants will receive all their entitlements, including approved training and other benefits. APC is not frivolous; you will enjoy good governance under our administration,” he added.
Oyebamiji also highlighted his achievements as the Managing Director of Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL), noting that he increased workers’ salaries four times within a year and expanded the agency’s investments into oil and gas, as well as housing.
In his sermon, Sheikh Abdulbasit Katibi-Bello commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for supporting Oyebamiji’s candidacy, reportedly in line with the wishes of the late Akire of Ikire. He also prayed for Oyebamiji’s emergence as the eighth governor of Osun State.
“Even before securing the APC ticket, Oyebamiji had been supportive of all groups without bias. I urge everyone to back his ambition for a better Osun State,” the cleric said.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Irewole Muslim Community, Ademola Lasisi, called on youths to turn out in large numbers to vote for the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.

“I want to admonish our youths to go out of their ways to mobilise support for vote,it is not only the votes from this local government that will make him emerge, we must strive to other councils to see to his victory.”
Also, a leader of Muslim Community in Irewole, Olayinka Edu disclosed that they have been organizing the kind of prayer since 1988 for native of Ikire who want to contest.
“We are not for any political party but we support any of our member aspiring for political office. We are confident that Allah has answered our prayer.
“I am confident that Oyebamiji is the best choice for 2026 Osun guber seat. The philanthropist gesture is worthy of emulation, he has the fear of God. He built 67 mosques in this federal constituency, he erected churches and even secretariat of Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN).
“He gave scholarship to our children and youths, he has provided health care outreaches for residents across the state. He has shown that he is worthy to be governor even before now.”
