The Eletu-Odibo Chieftaincy Family yesterday reiterated that the dispute over the historic stool is still pending in court.

It said the suit LD/13332GCMW/2025 is before the Lagos State High Court.

The family distanced itself from a February 12 publication in which someone claimed to be the incumbent Eletu-Odibo of Lagos.

The person had directed that all matters relating to the family’s landed properties be referred to him.

But the Eletu-Odibo Chieftaincy Family rejected the claim, stating that the person was not entitled to the Eletu-Odibo chieftaincy stool.

The family warned the public to disregard the publication, cautioning that anyone acting in line with it does so at their own risk.

The family stated that it has accredited representatives managing its affairs, adding that all inquiries, especially regarding landed properties, should be directed to its lawyer, A.R. Fatoki & Associates.

The development is likely to intensify the ongoing legal battle over the prestigious traditional stool.
