Reacting after the narrow loss, the former Super Eagles winger emphasized that isolated setbacks would not derail the club’s broader ambition.

“If losing to Bayelsa United will give us the league title, I’ll accept it,” Finidi remarked. “We know the purpose of our campaign this season is to win the league.”
Despite the disappointment, Rivers United remain in the title conversation, with the coach stressing that consistency over the full season rather than individual results will ultimately determine the champions.
