The Delta State Police Command has denied knowledge of an alleged attack by suspected herdsmen that reportedly left three fishermen dead in Okpolo-Enhwe community, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

This is even as residents insist the victims were ambushed and killed while heading to their fishing lake early Wednesday morning.

The tragic incident has left residents in fear and forced some to flee their homes.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said he was yet to get confirmation on the incident, further describing it as a "rumour" on Saturday.

"I have not gotten any clear information on that attack. I tried to find out, nobody knows where that rumour is coming from," he stated, adding that the operatives were on patrol in the area on the day of the incident.
