Voice of Single Mothers Foundation is set to recognise excellence and honour in women with launch of a Power Award on March 8 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to align with International Women’s Day celebrations.
The event drives home the body’s mission to honour women of influence while supporting single mothers.
“We are honouring achievement, strength, and commitment to make a difference,” said A. Galadima, executive.
“We are excited to spotlight leaders and channel the event’s energy into supporting single mothers for brighter futures.”
“Beyond a convergence of style and celebration, it is planned to be a reminder of the power of the woman, in line with International Women’s Day. We laud her presence and essence, her contribution to life through career, innovation, entrepreneurship, health and medicine, art, and more.”

Mr. Ibim Isaacs, a top film and media executive, who serves as project manager for the award, said: “The days of women are here. Women have evolved from the traditional perception we know.
“Today, they are building homes as well as building systems, influencing culture and trends. They can no longer be ignored. The Power Award is a mirror and a torch. As a mirror, every winner reflects what we want the next generation of women to be; as a torch, we are shining a light on the importance of the woman’s undisturbed presence in our society.”
Project director for the Power Award, Justice Slik, added: “It is a movement, it’s a call, a loud reminder to every member of the global family to place a beyond-surface value on the girl child.
“The Power Award drums home the importance of girl child education and safety.
We are reminded that women, beyond birth and reproduction, play a vital role in the formation of society, its culture, and its citizens.
“We are using the Power Awards to remind women of who they are, beyond what the world chooses to call them.”
