In a statement, the organisers said the initiative recognises individuals whose work promotes peace, unity and sustainable development across Africa.
They explained that inclusion among the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa represents more than an award, describing it as a continental recognition of leadership, influence and measurable impact.
According to the organisers, the honour celebrates individuals engaged in mediation, humanitarian service, youth empowerment, diplomacy and community development.

They added that the recognition also acknowledges years of dedicated service while strengthening recipients’ credibility before governments, institutions and international organisations.
Awardees become part of a network of policymakers, diplomats, entrepreneurs and advocates across Africa, opening doors to cross-border collaborations, global conferences and policy dialogues focused on peace and development.
Founder of the initiative, Amb Dr. Kingsley Amafibe, explained that the listing signifies leadership, credibility and enduring legacy. He said the honorees are recognised for actively contributing to peace-building efforts and shaping a more united and progressive Africa.
"Being listed among the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa signifies leadership, credibility, continental relevance and an enduring legacy that actively contributes to peace, unity and sustainable development across Africa," he said.
Organisers added that the initiative aims to inspire future generations and reinforce the message that Africa celebrates builders of peace and positive change.
