A new initiative aimed at advancing inclusive education and child development, the Fasabeks Hope Foundation, has been launched in Abeokuta.
Speaking at the launch, the founder and visioneer, Fausat Adetokunbo Sogoyinbo, described the event as the birth of a vision and the beginning of meaningful impact. She said the foundation was established out of compassion and a strong conviction that every child deserves equal opportunities.
Sogoyinbo noted that many children with special needs still face significant barriers in accessing quality education, healthcare, emotional support and social inclusion. She added that physically fit children also require structured guidance within inclusive environments to develop into confident and responsible adults.
“Disability does not define destiny,” she said, adding that with the right support system, every child can learn, grow and contribute meaningfully to society.
According to her, the foundation is built on three core pillars: holistic support, inclusive environment and empowerment. She explained that the initiative will provide services that promote the physical, emotional and social well-being of children, while creating safe spaces where children with different abilities can learn and interact together.
She emphasised that inclusion fosters empathy, unity and stronger communities.
Sogoyinbo further stated that the foundation will focus on tailored educational programmes, therapy and healthcare services, emotional support for families, advocacy for the rights of children with special needs, community engagement initiatives and capacity building for caregivers and professionals.
Outlining the implementation strategy, she said the immediate priorities include completing registration processes, establishing a board of trustees, recruiting qualified personnel and developing a comprehensive service framework.
The founder also called on government agencies, healthcare professionals, educators, corporate organisations, parents and other stakeholders to partner with the foundation in advancing inclusive opportunities for children.
