Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State has urged Special Marshals to assist the Command in carrying out road auditing and researches into causes of road traffic crashes in the state. 

Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno who made the call during the inauguration of 2026 Enlisted Volunteer Special Marshals said the auditing and researches would assist the Command in mitigating crashes in the state.

She described the Special Marshals as critical partner of the corps, saying their visible contributions had further boosted activities of the Corps especially in area of traffic control, clearing obstruction, rescue operations and public enlightenment, particularly in schools. 

She said, "Special Marshals who are second in the three tiers of FRSC have all the powers of FRSC regular Marshals, except that they don't wear uniforms and are not paid. 

"They have been voluntarily contributing their quota, including their time and resources in assisting the FRSC operations which is a collective responsibility.

"In fact, they're currently building a very beautiful clinic for us at Nteje which is nearing completion."

Congratulating the new intakes, the Sector Commander said they were privileged to be part of the Corps, urging them to ensure their training reflected on their duties.

"The Special Marshals are men and women of proven integrity, who are tested and trusted. They were certified for engagement after rigorous training.

"Most of them are from the private sectors, businessmen and artisans," she added.

Earlier, State Coordinator of the Special Marshal, Michael Ogbusa described the occasion as significant step in strengthening road safety and traffic management in the state. 

He appreciated the new Marshals, describing their willingness to volunteer their time and energy to serve their community as truly commendable. 

"As you take on this role, you become key partners in ensuring safer roads and promoting responsible driving habits among our citizens," he added.
