Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, will on Wednesday inaugurate the five commissioners-designate cleared by the state House of Assembly.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Dagogo Wokoma, said the swearing-in would take place at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt.

The statement identified the commissioners-designate as Mr Tonye Bellgam, Prof. Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Mr Lekue Kenneth and Sir Amairigha Hart.

They were asked to attend the event alongside one guest each and to be seated by 12:30pm.

The inauguration came two days after the beneficiaries were confirmed by the Speaker Martins Amaewhule-led Assembky after rigorous screening.

Out of the nine nominees, the House screened and confirmed five but rejected four others over issues bordering on poor performance, discrepancies in certificates, lack of tax clearance certificate, petitions among others.

The activities of the lawmakers generated mixed reactions as some persons accused them of political witch-hunt while others praised them for diligently carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.
