The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has appointed Dr. Sunday Saanu of the University of Ibadan as its Director of Communication and Corporate Affairs.
Dr. Saanu, a cumulative graduate of communication and a distinguished journalist brings on board a myriad of diverse experiences and insights gained over the years in both public and private universities, having worked with four Vice Chancellors in UI as Media Assistant before going to Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, where he further built a strong reputation for himself as an established writer with a compelling prose style.
Respected for his resilience and resourcefulness, Dr. Saanu is going to FUOYE with formidable academic and professional credentials, including a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication and Language Arts, Master of Communication Arts (MCA), Master of Arts (MA) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cultural and and Media Studies from University of Ibadan (UI). He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR).

His letter of appointment was signed by the FUOYE Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, who congratulated Dr. Saanu on the appointment as the pioneering Director.

Dr. Saanu, whose work sits at the intersection of print journalism, public relations, perception creation, and management, is an avid reader and erudite researcher. He is a tailored man of excellent manners and impeccable character, exemplifying a perfect blend of professionalism, kindness, and friendship.
He brings to FUOYE a rare blend of academic depth and administrative pragmatism, personifying a new model of leadership: confident in reform, fluent in evidence, and relentless in execution. Dr. Saanu believes that a leader could be both competent and compassionate.
He attended Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State Polytechnic, now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where he had earlier studied Mass Communication up to a Higher National Degree (HND), before moving to the University of Ibadan, where he read Communication and Language Arts, wrapping his academic career with a Ph.D in Cultural and Media Studies in the same university.
This appointment is, however, a culmination of his years of diligence and commitment to his work, having carved a niche for himself as an ingenious writer whose write-ups are always raves with the readers, with the best of creative writing, dramatization, and graphic presentation of facts and figures.
