The Federal University Oye Ekiti has inaugurated its new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole.
The inauguration was held on Wednesday at the Victor Ndoma Egba Auditorium on the university campus.

The inauguration ceremony, which focused on the theme of leadership transition, continuity, and institutional development, attracted a large audience made up of academics, students, government officials, and traditional rulers.
The auditorium was filled, with additional attendees standing throughout the duration of the programme.
Ogunwole officially took over from the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, who completed his five-year tenure.
The event marked the formal handover of administrative authority to the new Vice Chancellor.
The ceremony was presided over by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, SAN, who delivered the opening address.

In his speech, he highlighted the importance of stable leadership in the growth of the university and commended the outgoing Vice Chancellor for his service. He also urged the new Vice Chancellor to build on existing achievements and uphold the vision of the institution.
Several traditional rulers were present at the event, including His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomoso land. Also in attendance were Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, and Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, the Onisan of Isan Ekiti. Their presence added cultural importance to the occasion and reflected the relationship between the university and its host communities.
Fasina expressed appreciation to staff, students, and the Governing Council for their support during his administration and encouraged the university community to give full cooperation to the new Vice Chancellor.
In his inaugural address, Professor Joshua Ogunwole thanked the Federal Government, the Governing Council, and the university community for the confidence placed in him.
He outlined his vision for the university, which includes strengthening academic standards, promoting research and innovation, improving staff welfare, and ensuring a peaceful academic environment.
Other speeches were delivered by principal officers of the university, representatives of academic staff unions, and student leaders, all of whom pledged their support for the new administration.
