Glory Impact Christian Centre (GICC), Olambe, Ogun State, has reaffirmed its commitment to community development with a range of impactful initiatives aimed at improving lives and empowering vulnerable groups.
The church has, over time, implemented programmes such as scholarship awards for indigent children, welfare support for widows, and empowerment initiatives for youths and women through its Gracelink Mentorship platform. Other interventions include the This is My Reality Talk Show as well as sporting engagements like table tennis championships, chess, and draft contests designed to foster community bonding and healthy competition.
In a renewed effort to deepen youth engagement and social impact, GICC has announced the second edition of the Bisi Afolayan Cup, a football tournament aimed at promoting unity and positive youth development.

Speaking on the initiative, the Resident Pastor of GICC, Pastor Segun Ajayi, described the maiden edition as a remarkable success, noting that it featured 16 competitive teams and attracted wide participation and support from the community.
According to him, the tournament not only showcased football talent but also promoted values such as discipline, teamwork, and unity, leaving lasting impressions and raising expectations for subsequent editions.
He disclosed that this year’s tournament will take place from July 25 to August 1, 2026, and will be expanded to include a variety of games such as Ayo, Ludo, Scrabble, and Snooker, thereby creating a more inclusive platform for diverse participants.
Pastor Ajayi emphasised that the Bisi Afolayan Cup goes beyond sports, describing it as a movement designed to redirect youthful energy, inspire purpose, and restore hope among young people.
To ensure the success of the initiative, the church is calling on individuals, corporate organisations, and other stakeholders to support the project through sponsorship, provision of resources, and goodwill contributions.
“With collective effort, we can achieve more than organising a tournament. We can inspire change and positively impact lives,” he said.
